Urban Exploration in Miami
Head on down to the website for the latest photos. This adventure was quite fun. I went with some new friends. I still have to go back to shoot a few more times because I didn’t quite get everything I wanted. Most shots took over 15 seconds each in pitch blackness so it took forever. Head on over to the website through this link.
Hipstamatic today posted some of my abandoned photos up on their Facebook page! I am the “Adventures In Hipstaland” Photographer for the week of July 6-13th! I am really happy that they chose me to represent Miami! I wanted to do something different than everyone else and since I had been shooting a lot of abandoned buildings with the Hipstamatic on the iPhone I asked if I could use those photos and they loved the idea!

I was very happy to be featured for my work on Channel 10 news. Apparently the reporter had been searching something else on the web, when he came across my site and liked my photos so much, he pitched the story to the Channel and they loved it! So I got a TV spot on June 30th at 11pm. Not prime time but I wasn’t complaining! It was an awesome opportunity and I am glad it happened. He originally called me the day of my actual birthday! It was really crazy!
I shot this hotel years ago. I decided to revisit with the iphone.
A friend just recently gave me the directions to this new place. Although it looks as if it will be torn down soon I will try to go back and document it as much as possible.
This free app is like the hipstamatic solution for pictures not taken with the hipstamatic.
Example:
Regular iPhone cam:

Furthermore it includes social networking connectivity to post to all your networks.
Taken with iPhone:

The only thing I don’t like is that theres no choice in lens and film like hipstamatic. So the combinations are fewer.
Taken with Nikon D90:

I think it would be great to see the big camera makers making film cameras that would shoot in styles like these. Imagine the quality of photography that could be created when you have better lenses and a choice of shutter speeds and aperture. For now though, we will have to settle to importing into an iPhone.
If you download it, feel free to add your own examples in the comments, I’d love to see.
